ABOUT THE EVENT-
Since 1977, the brothers of Sigma Nu have participated in the annual Game Ball Run. This is a special tradition in which the brothers from both Clemson University and the University of South Carolina Chapters run the game ball used in the Clemson – USC game, completing a 138-mile trip. The Game Ball Run is a fund raising event for Sigma Nu’s philanthropy, Dabo Swinney’s All in TeamR Foundation.
The Mission of Dabo’s All In TeamR Foundation is “to raise awareness of critical education and health issues in order to change the lives of people across the state of South Carolina.” In their efforts to achieve this mission, the Foundation focuses on 6 main areas: (1) an annual Grant Program, (2) Breast Cancer Research and Education, (3) The Family Effect, (4) The Call Me Mister Program, (5) The RISE Program, and (6) The ALS Association, added to their focus areas in early 2017. For more information on Dabo’s All In Team Foundation, please visit www.dabosallinteam.com.
Last year, our chapter raised over $24,000 for Dabo’s All In TeamR Foundation. This year, our goal is $30,000. We plan to host events, foster more sorority participation, and create more media exposure as a means to reach our goal.
Coach Swinney and his wife Kathleen are planning to run the first leg of this year’s GBR and heavy media presence is expected throughout the duration of the run.
